Our focus
American Funds Service Company, one of the Capital Group companies, is the customer service provider for American Funds and the organization's primary point of contact for our mutual fund shareholders and financial advisers. Additionally, associates who work for Capital Bank and Trust Company provide services for retirement plan sponsors and participants. For years, we've been recognized as the leader in customer service by Dalbar, a mutual fund industry service rating organization.
Do you have a passion for service, but don't know much about the financial services industry? No problem. Our paid training program will prepare you to hit the ground running.
What we do
- Process incoming investment transactions (new accounts or additional investments)
- Handle all incoming phone calls (information requests and account transactions)
- Send mailings, including account statements, dividend and other checks, year-end tax forms and shareholder reports
What we don't do
We don't sell. We rely on professional financial advisers to do that for us. Our service professionals focus on one thing — providing exceptional service to our mutual fund shareholders and their financial advisers.
Successful candidates
If you possess the following qualities, the Capital Group may be right for you:
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to think quickly in a fast-paced environment
- Detail orientation and the ability to learn, retain and apply considerable amounts of information
- Interest in learning about the financial services industry
- Ability to work in a collaborative, team-oriented environment
- Flexibility to work additional hours as needed
- Customer service experience in any industry a plus
- PC/Internet skills a plus
